February 12, 2009 Meeting Highlights
Chapter 1426 met at the TCA Hangar for a delicious meal of Mimi Thomas's chili and desserts.
Brian Sutphin, a brand new private pilot, presented his humorous version of what he experienced in obtaining his license. He stated that it required a lot of patience due to uncontrollable circumstances that arise. He extended appreciation to Bob Steele for allowing his plane to be used for lessons, and to Scott Thomas for teaching him how to fly.
Bill Bryant, who has previously built three helicopters and taught himself to fly, told about his experiences from learning to fly to becoming an instructor for helicopter flying. Bill is truly a remarkable individual.
Sharyl Walker conducted the guessing game pictured in the last newsletter.
Bob Steele conducted the meeting. Various projects were discussed. The tentative dates for the Young Eagles Rallies are May 9 and September 26. Gary Craig will head up a fundraising committee; Shirley Steele and Nancy Beasley will head up the effort to conduct a memorial for Emily Gile. Marcus Ogle is in charge of programs. A committee was set up to work on the fly-in lunches planned for each month. More details will be in the minutes that will be in the next newsletter, posted at this site.
EAA members left the meeting with full tummies and a head full of knowledge.
